I'm Back.

So, I'm taking steps in order to further my future career in accounting. I was told this summer to take my blog and turn it into an accounting blog. A friendly place to get info on all the current issues that are going on in accounting. I think I will also attempt to publish "thoughts from my brain" still, because there is more to me than just accounting. :) I know that's hard for some of you to believe.

I want to explore and share with you what I have been finding about each of the Big 4 firms. I have been exploring their websites in order to get a better idea of which one I may want to work for.

First up is Ernst & Young. They are the 3rd largest accounting firm in the world, with locations in 130 countries, 135,000 employees and annual revenue of about $24.5 billion. Their website is so helpful and I'll try and point out what I feel are their strengths.

EY has a lot of the same goals, services, and programs that the other Big 4 have. They offer services in tax, advisory, assurance (audit), strategic growth markets, and specialty services to a wide variety of industries (oil & gas, automotive, retail, technology, etc.) I think you should go and explore the "Careers" section of their website. They have a phenomenal breakdown for students, experienced professionals, and executives.

Visit this link (http://www.ey.com/eyinsight/index.html) and explore for yourself what Ernst and Young is all about. I think they're great and I hope I will someday be blessed with a job offer from them. :) I think I next want to talk about Arthur Anderson and the reason why we no longer have The Big 5.
